The Caregiver Journey Workshop

As part of the CAREGIVING national initiative, this day-long mini-conference will provide practical information to help caregivers care for their loved ones and themselves.

Agenda:

  • 9:00 am – Registration/Continental breakfast/Exhibitor visits
  • 9:45 am – Welcome and Opening Remarks
  • 9:55–10:17 am – CAREGIVING preview
  • 10:20–11:00 am – Susan Ponder-Stansel, President & CEO, Alivia Care
  • 11:00–11:15 am – Break/Exhibitor Visits
  • 11:15–11:45 pm – Navigating the Network: A session on understanding the various choices families have in providing their loved one with safe, professional care, whether it’s at home, in a skilled nursing facility, assisted, or independent living.
  • 11:45–12:15 pm – Lunch
  • 12:15–12:55 pm –  How Do I Pay for Care and What are My Options?: A discussion on Medicare, Medicaid, VA benefits, and private insurance to cover long-term care costs.
  • 12:55–1:10 pm – Break/Exhibitor Visits
  • 1:10–1:50 pm – Panel Discussion with Caregivers: Hear valuable insights from those who have “walked the walk” and those still on the journey.
  • 1:50–2 pm – Closing
