Telling the truth isn’t always that simple.

Alice is a brilliant novelist who despises the polite fictions modern society runs on—and she refuses to play along. But the more she calls out the people around her, the sharper the backlash gets, until she’s forced to reckon with what honesty actually costs.

Killing Eve‘s Sandra Oh takes the title role in this gender-swapped production, directed by Indhu Rubasingham and based on a new version by Martin Crimp (Cyrano de Bergerac) that transplants Molière’s story into the present day. Filmed live on stage at the National Theatre, this dark comedy is by turns funny, uncomfortable, and cuttingly relevant.
