Welcome to the WJCT Public Media SMS Program (“Program”). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your participation in WJCT Public Media’s text messaging services. By enrolling or otherwise agreeing to receive text messages from WJCT, you agree to these Terms and our SMS Privacy Policy (link to your published policy).
1. Program Description
WJCT Public Media (“WJCT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) may send you text messages (SMS and MMS) related to:
- Station news, program updates, and local events.
- Membership and donor communications.
- Special campaigns, such as pledge drives or Giving Tuesday initiatives.
- Emergency alerts and community information.
Message frequency will vary depending on your interaction with WJCT.
2. Consent to Receive Messages
By opting in, you authorize WJCT Public Media to send text messages to the mobile number you provided using automated or manual systems.
Your consent is not required to make a donation or become a member.
Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile plan.
3. Opting Out
You can cancel SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from WJCT.
After sending STOP, you will receive a one-time confirmation message that you have been unsubscribed.
If you wish to rejoin, text START, JOIN, or UNSTOP at any time.

4. Message Frequency and Fees
Message frequency varies and may depend on your level of engagement with WJCT campaigns or communications.
Standard message and data rates may apply as determined by your mobile carrier.
WJCT does not charge a fee for participation in the Program, but your carrier’s rates will apply.
5. Supported Carriers
WJCT’s SMS service is supported by most major U.S. wireless carriers. However, delivery of messages is subject to each carrier’s terms of service and network availability. WJCT is not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
6. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our SMS Privacy Policy to learn how we collect, use, and protect your information.
WJCT does not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
7. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old or have parental consent to participate in WJCT’s SMS Program.
By enrolling, you represent that you are the authorized account holder of the mobile number you provided.
8. Program Availability and Changes
WJCT reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the SMS Program or these Terms at any time, without prior notice.
We may also update these Terms periodically. Continued participation after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Disclaimer of Liability
WJCT is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages, or for any damages resulting from your use of the SMS Program.
All information provided through WJCT’s SMS messages is for informational purposes only.
