Bio: Bill Beck has been an amateur wood worker for the past 60 years. First working at a kitchen table between meals and eventually using U.S. Army Craft Shops. Bill first used a lathe in 2008 and found an outlet for his creativity. Lathes have been used as far back as ancient Egypt to manufacture bowls and other utilitarian vessels. If a turned object can hold soup it’s a turning if not it is art.

Piece Description: Locally wood ( mimosa and maple) hollowed to a wall thickness of 3/16″. legs are carved maple.
