Zhang Lifan is a writer and historian of republican-era China and a former member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Zhang says China’s Communist Party has brainwashed young Chinese with Marxist ideology, but by doing so, is unwittingly giving youths a tool to fight the government.
